Arts Award Welcome

We welcome all young people with an interest in the Arts. Here are some ways to get involved...

Taking Part:

The South Holland Centre offers regular opportunities to take part in the arts through weekly after-school workshops in dance, music and singing. We also run school holiday activities such as Rock School, Drama and Film weeks. Workshops with visiting professional artists are offered throughout the year.

Please see the TAKE PART section of our brochures and website including the special Teachers and Tutors page.

Meeting Arts Professionals

The South Holland Centre?s lively mixed programme of theatre, dance, music, film and comedy often includes pre or post-show discussions with professional composers, actors, dancers or directors.

Education linked, practical workshops with professional artists are frequently offered alongside performances and many companies are open to arranging specific discussion opportunities with pre-booked groups. Contact the Centre?s Marketing Manager if you are interested in arranging something for your group or even as an individual.

Enjoying and Appreciating:

Live performances or cinema screenings (including arts and foreign language films) are on offer six days a week all year round at the South Holland Centre.

Be in the audience for top quality theatre, dance, music, cinema and comedy. Young people and school/ college/ youth groups are offered discounted ticket prices for Monday Movie Club films, most professional Live shows and this year the Centre also has 500 FREE TICKETS to give away to people aged under 26 through the Arts Council's "A Night Less Ordinary" scheme.

Showcasing Young People's Work:

The South Holland Centre is the performance base for many local community arts groups, and regularly showcases school, college and youth performances. Subsidised hire rates are available for South Holland based community groups, but please apply early as space is always in high demand and is often booked as much as a year ahead!

Young people who get involved in the Centre's own TAKE PART programme often showcase their work on stage here and further afield, sometimes alongside visiting professional artists.
