Making new things happen at the South Holland Centre
Youth Takeover is a group of young people who meet up regularly at the Centre to plan stuff they would like to see going on here and in the arts locally. And they are always coming up with great ideas!
Some of the things the group tell us they enjoy are “being listened to”, “getting to know other young creative people locally and across the county”, and “gaining skills and experience in things like event management, marketing, and arts programming”.
In the past year YT at SHC have run monthly music cafes, organised an outdoor mini-festival, created some brand new music alongside a well-known orchestra, and had opportunities to join trips to the Edinburgh Fringe and other national arts events and venues.
There are loads of opportunities to use your own creative ideas to make things happen.
From September 2016 the group will meet at 4.30pm on Wednesdays mainly working on the LOV Film project - a mini-film festival during October half-term. BUT we are always open to new ideas which may also get off the ground. If you want to get involved in the film project or have any other great ideas, come and join us!
