The final of BBC Radio Lincolnshire’s annual song writing contest with headline act The Young 'Uns

BBC Radio 2 Folk Award winners ‘The Young’uns’ are to headline BBC Radio Lincolnshire’s Song for Lincolnshire 2017.

The multi‐award winning trio will perform on the South Holland Centre stage alongside local musicians. The song writing contest, which is in its 23rd year, has played host to musicians from the county and beyond.

Musicians are given 4 months to pen their songs, all of which are about Lincolnshire. Through to the Finals this year are Geoff Convery & Jim Hancock, Paul Dickinson, Kim Biggs, Salutation, Ashley Groombridge & Angela King, Homity, Steve & Julie Wigley and Penny Sykes.
There will also be a special performance from local duo Ben Smith and Jimmy Brewer, who have recently returned from performing in Nashville.
The evening will be hosted by BBC Radio Lincolnshire’s Jono Brine, and raises money for BBC Children in Need.

It’s really exciting to bring Song for Lincolnshire to Spalding. We have some fantastic songs that have been entered this year, and we can’t wait to have The Young‘uns performing in the town” says Jono.

Tickets are FREE from the Box Office to on 01775 764777.
