A film exploring the turbulent life of WWI poet Siegfried Sassoon.
This beautifully observed biopic of the English poet Siegfried Sassoon, who found fame during the First World War, is the latest film by the revered director Terence Davies.
A complex man who survived the horrors of conflict Sassoon became a vocal critic of the war when he returned from service even though he won a medal for gallantry.
Jack Lowden plays Sassoon as the handsome younger poet while Peter Capaldi does a fine job representing the older man who looks back on his career searching for the meaning of it all.
