Saturday 6th April
From 3pm (last admission 8pm)
Young people of South Holland present a free festival of light, colour and wonder in celebration of Shakespeare - one of eight Emerge Festivals taking place across the Midlands.
A magical one-day free festival of arts and music inspired by Shakespeare at Ayscoughfee Hall and Gardens.
Devised and delivered entirely by local young people as part of #EmergeFest2019
The line-up will include performances, a silent disco and an impressive light display illuminating Ayscoughfee Hall at dusk.
The free event is described as ‘a celebration of the works of Shakespeare using light, colour and wonder’ and will run from 3pm until around 8pm on the Saturday evening. Right from the start the group wanted to make sure their festival could run into the evening so that they could light up parts of Ayscoughfee Hall and more importantly the beautiful garden too. Events will include live music and performance, a ‘Shriekspeare’ scare tour, sculptures and projections and workshops, a cake stall (to raise funds for the Brain Tumour Charity), a ‘Where’s Willy?’ Shakespeare trail and even a Shakespeare themed outdoor Silent Disco.
